SCARA robots are famous for one thing: speed. A good SCARA robot can pick and place parts 60 to 100 times per minute. But most storage magazines cannot keep up with this pace. They take too long to change layers. The robot finishes one layer and then sits idle, waiting for the next tray to arrive. This wasted time adds up quickly across a full shift.
The High-End Four-Axis Robot Multi-Layer Storage System changes this. We designed it specifically to match the rhythm of SCARA robots. The layer change time is only 15 to 20 seconds. But the real difference is in the logic. This system predicts when a layer is about to run out. It starts moving the next layer while the robot takes the last few parts. By the time the robot finishes its cycle, the next tray is already waiting. There is zero waiting time.
One of our customers in the 3C electronics industry installed this system on a line with 12 SCARA robots. Before, their robots spent about 18% of their time waiting for material. The system uses a Siemens PLC with a 7-inch touch screen. The lift is driven by servo motors with precision reducers. The repeat positioning accuracy for each layer is within ±0.25 mm. This precision is critical when handling small electronic parts that must be picked from the exact same position every time. The frame is reinforced to handle the continuous vibration that SCARA robots create. This keeps the system stable and accurate over years of high-speed operation.
