Industrial Robot Double-layer Storage System

When a CNC machine runs out of parts, it stops. The machine sits idle while a worker comes to reload. A few minutes of waiting here and there does not seem like much. But over a full shift, those minutes add up to hours of lost production. For a shop with many machines, the loss is huge.

The Industrial Robot Double-Layer Storage System solves this problem with a simple idea: two layers, alternating supply. The top layer feeds the robot while the bottom layer waits. When the top layer is empty, the system switches to the bottom layer. The worker reloads the top layer while the bottom layer feeds. The machine never stops. The worker never has to rush.

One CNC customer had a shop with 20 machines. Before using our system, each machine stopped for 10 to 15 minutes every hour for reloading. That is over two hours of idle time per machine per shift. Across 20 machines, that is 40 hours of lost production every day. After installing our Industrial Robot Double-Layer Storage System on each machine, the machines never stopped for material. The system uses a pneumatic cylinder drive for tray switching. The switch time is only 6 seconds. Tray repeat positioning accuracy is within ±0.25 mm. The control uses a Guangdong Gumei PLC and a 7-inch touch screen. The two layers cannot move at the same time. This prevents collisions. The working temperature range is -10°C to 45°C. The system comes in three sizes: small (500×600 mm tray), medium (620×680 mm tray), and large (900×950 mm tray).
