A Smart Storage Solution for Small Production Lines
Designed specifically for small-to-medium-sized automated production lines, this multi-layer storage system serves as a high-value storage unit. It operates in a simple, intuitive manner: workpieces are placed on multiple pallets, and the system integrates with gantry-style loading/unloading units or robots to meet high-volume storage requirements for applications such as automated CNC loading/unloading and assembly lines. Material handling proceeds layer by layer; once processing on a pallet is complete, the system automatically switches to the next one-a process that requires no manual intervention.
Zhejiang Luban Automation Technology Co., Ltd. has been designing and making these storage systems since 2017. We have a 2,450-m² assembly plant in Changxing, Huzhou, plus a 1,000-m² sheet metal shop with laser cutters, press brakes, and machining centers. Stopping Frequent Machine Stops
Many small factories still use single-layer trays. Workers must stop the machine every 30 minutes to reload parts. This breaks production flow and keeps machines idle for long periods. You also need a person just to watch the trays. This is not efficient and raises labor costs.
The Economical Multi-Layer Storage System fixes this with vertical storage. It comes with 5 to 10 tray layers. Each tray is 600 mm by 480 mm and holds up to 35 kg. One full load lets your machine run for several hours without a break. You do not need to stop often to add parts. One of our long-time customers told us that after using this system, their machine usage went up by over 30%. The operator no longer needs to watch the tray all the time.
Simple and Dependable Working Method
The system operates very simply. You place the parts neatly on each tray; without the need to configure any parameters, a single-button start initiates automatic, continuous operation. When the robot removes the last part from a layer, the system detects the empty tray and moves the lift mechanism to bring down the next layer. This process takes just 15 to 20 seconds.
This lift utilizes Inovance servo motors (400W and 750W) and is equipped with Shimpo planetary gearboxes, enabling smooth movement and precise positioning. The repeatability at each level is ±0.25 mm, meeting the requirements of any robot or robotic manipulator.
Built for Real Workshop Conditions
The machine body is made of standard steel sections welded together. It has a simple, strong build without complex delicate parts. So the Economical Multi-Layer Storage System works well even with dust, oil, and metal chips in the workshop. It runs in temperatures from -10°C to 45°C, which fits most factory floors.
The control system utilizes a PLC and an integrated unit featuring a PLC and a 7-inch touchscreen from Guangdong Gumei Technology. The screen is clear and user-friendly. General workers can quickly learn how to load, start, switch setups, and troubleshoot; no specialized personnel are required to operate the system.
