Single Axis Gantry Robot

The Single axis Gantry Robot is a lightweight automated loading and unloading system made for a single CNC machine. It uses a simple design with horizontal travel and vertical lifting. Its main job is horizontal part transfer and vertical pick-and-place. It is made for small and medium precision parts in batch processing.

The design idea is "simple, reliable, and just enough." There are no complex extra axes. Only travel and lift. The structure is simple. Response is fast. The failure rate is very low. One picker serves one CNC machine. Motion logic is simple. There is no coordination problem with other machines.

For small and medium CNC machine upgrades, the biggest fear is a system that is too complex. More axes mean more complex debugging, more failure points, and harder maintenance. Many small factories do not need the most capable system. They need the simplest, most stable, and most affordable system.

The Single axis Gantry Robot is made for this need. It has only two motions: travel and lift. The structure is very simple. Debugging and maintenance are easy. A worker can learn to operate and maintain it with simple training. No specialist is needed. One customer told us that after using this picker, their single machine's daily output increased by over 20%. Because the structure is simple, the failure rate is very low. There is almost no extra maintenance cost.

The robot uses two-axis coordination – a horizontal travel axis and a vertical lift axis. It picks parts from the storage position and moves to the machine door to wait. When the machine finishes and opens the door, the robot lowers to remove the finished part and load the new one. Then it returns to standby.

Both axes use servo motors with precision linear guides. Running is stable and repeat positioning is accurate. Speed can be adjusted to match the part and machine cycle. Starts and stops have soft buffering to avoid part damage. The control uses a Delta gantry system with a 7-inch touch screen teach pendant. The system connects to the machine through standard signals. It supports automatic picking, empty alarm, and fault stop.

The body uses a heavy steel structure. It is rigid and does not deform easily. The two axes use precision linear guides with servo motors. Running is stable with no shaking. The system is compact and has a small footprint. No workshop changes are needed. The storage position is standardised. Trays and limits can be changed quickly. By changing the gripper, it can fit shafts, discs, shaped parts, and standard small parts. The working temperature range is -10°C to 45°C. Safety features include a fence, emergency stop, sound and light alarms, and motion interlocks. If there is a stuck part, misalignment, or signal problem, it stops and alarms immediately.
